1. Two tablespoons salt
  2. One tablespoon garlic powder
  3. One teaspoon each of the following:
  • Basil
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Onion powder
  • Red cayenne pepper
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Thyme
  • Turmeric

This seasoning blend base is the starter in all of my soups, marinades, some sauces and dry rubs. I make a big batch ahead of time and store with my other dry spices.

Depending on what dish I want to make determines what I add to this seasoning base.

  1. Spanish dishes: chili, cilantro, cumin or red pepper
  2. Asian dishes: saffron, cinnamon, or Star anise
  3. Italian dishes: oregano or coriander
